Myelorrhiza antrea Verdon & Elix

  Thallus forming rosettes 1–6 cm wide or thalli coalescing and up to 30 cm wide, usually 300–450 µm thick. Lobes ±strongly convex, oblong to linear, 0.4–1.5 mm wide, the young lobes broadly oblong to obovate, sometimes flabellate; margins crenulate to lobulate. Upper surface pale or whitish grey to grey-green; spots conspicuous, with ±dark outline. Lower surface with dense brown fasciculate rhizines 0.5–5 mm long, and simple pale rhizines near ultimate lobe apices. Podetia 0.25–0.5 mm long. Apothecia 0.7–1.8 mm wide. Ascospores 10–15 × 5–7 µm. Pycnidia with papillae 75–200 µm high. Conidia 6–11 µm long. CHEMISTRY: cortex K-, C-, KC-, P-; medulla K-, C-, KC-, P-, containing lobaric acid and traces of unknown compounds.
     
  Known only from northern Qld. Grows in crevices of granite rocks, or on the walls of caves.
